The original building at Abbey’s was erected in 1890. After a refurbishment in 2004, where the original wooden pylons still stand, The Abbey at Chester’s in the famed Swan Valley, serves big and delicious homestyle breakfasts and lunches, sharing platters, pizzas and a small selection of tapas. When ordering mains, expect juicy steaks, golden brown vegetarian croquettes and lamb casserole. This is food to warm the soul. Wines are sourced from Heafod Glen vineyard– located on the same property– and The Abbey proudly serves a range of Belgian beers, ales as well as having Tasmanian cider on tap.
