Taj Tandoor embodies all that is fabulous about 21st Century Indian cuisine in Australia. The elegant restaurant on Rundle Street in Adelaide sources local produce and makes everything in-house. The authentic curry pastes, charcoal tandoori and chutneys and pickles are all made from scratch. Market vegetables and seafood are sourced from Adelaide Central Market and the kitchen uses premium cuts of Coorong Angus Beef and Hay Valley Lamb from the Adelaide Hills. The menu is an offering of authentic and simple dishes but there are interesting innovations to be had as well. The dining room is a stunner: arched Victorian windows make for excellent people watching. This is the best kind of Indian diner you could hope for your neighbourhood.
