Dusty shades of pink, orange and yellow paint hint at the fusion of flavours from North Africa, the Mediterranean, Asia and the Middle East, served up at this small but excellent Central Coast eatery. A suq is a marketplace or stall at a market in northern Africa or the Middle East, it is a place where the freshest produce, locally grown and seasonally selected is sold. And so it is here at Suq in Wamberal. Dining here is an adventure, a discovery of premium produce and perfectly blended spice mixes, where everything is made from scratch to create a true experience of shared dining. This is a wonderful place to share a feast: there is an excellent selection of small plates to share or for something more substantial, choose the larger shared dining platters of tempura flathead, twelve-hour braised lamb souvlaki or Malaysian style beef curry. The eating here is excellent, there is plenty to enjoy on the wine list and the kitchen and floor staff are impressive. They are savvy, attentive and welcoming. Suq is a standout.
