On the busy dining strip of Lygon Street in Brunswick East, competition is fierce. To capture the attention of diners, restaurants must play their best game, and it is excellent to see that Royal Eatery enjoys such good patronage. On weekends the restaurant is alive with chatter, spice-loving diners crammed into booth seats and at banquettes, sharing an exotic meal together. Royal Eatery kicks off the proceedings with happy hour from 5pm-7pm each day of the week so it makes a lot of sense to then segue into a feast of chicken tikka, excellent house made garlic naan and palak paneer. The lamb cutlets are superb, the curries robust in flavour and there are many vegetarian specialties at this Indian eating house such as the butter pumpkin masala and daal makhni. This warm and inviting dining room makes for a casual, fun and flavoursome night out whether out on a date or dining with a big, hungry group. Royal Eatery is a winner.
