The setting and ambience of Hunters Quarter is pretty hard to beat. Off the beaten track in the Hunter Valley, this dining room is a pleasure to be in with its high wooden ceilings, pendant lights and expansive bi-fold windows which bring the sprawling outdoors in, filling the room with sunshine and warmth. The food served here by a delightful team of smart floor staff is equally impressive. Located on the grounds of the Cockfighters Ghost Vineyard, the kitchen is headed up by experienced and creative chef, Brian Duncan, who relishes the opportunity to handpick seasonal local ingredients and produce innovative dishes like butter poached bug tail and marinated duck breast served with peppered caramel cherries and smoked almond. If just passing through, you can even check in for some amazing and substantial bar food like Berkshire pork rillette with shallot crostini, plum compote and pickled fennel salad. Yum, yum and yum!. The wine list is equally delicious. So, if visiting here, don’t be in too much of a hurry to leave. Dining here is truly memorable.
