Mount Lofty House was built in 1852 - a summer residence for Arthur Hardy. Recently transformed into a stunning fine-dining restaurant, Hardy's Verandah Restaurant drinks in the views over Piccadilly Valley. Chef Jin Choi plates up very simple looking, elegant dishes for both the short and long tasting menus. And while the food looks simple, this belies a deep, complex and careful crafting of flavours. The modern Japanese food which features is delicious and, as you would expect, the wine list is vast with a particular focus on wines from the region of the Adelaide Hills. It seems wrong to just stay for the short tasting. The award-winning restaurant grows and forages for bounty from the property itself and an abundance of local produce means food literally comes straight from the Valley to the Verandah and then to you. This is a fine-dining experience not to be missed.
