A lovely go-to for fresh and fabulous cuisine, Hanoi Old Quarter serves up authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Sitting just around the corner from Swinburne University, the warm dining room is filled with gorgeous young things as well as with locals who come for their Vietnamese fix. There is deliciousness aplenty throughout the menu from bao (rolls), spring rolls and betel leaves encasing beef and vermicelli, to the soft shell crab salad or platter of butterflied lemongrass chicken. The crispy roasted duck banquet is a knock out and a bestseller for the restaurant. The duck is smoked with green tea and rice and the three courses include steamed bao, duck salad and duck congee. It is a flavour sensation. Service is friendly and attentive, and the room is comfortable and decorated with evocative trinkets and artworks, all inspired by Hanoi.
